Privacy Policy
Last updated June 5, 2026
TruSpread is a research tool that compiles and analyzes data for public companies from SEC EDGAR filings. This policy explains what information we collect when you use TruSpread, why, and the choices you have.
In this policy, “TruSpread,” “we,” “us,” and “our” refer to the operator of the Service. The Service is currently in private beta. Your use of TruSpread indicates that you have read and accept the practices described here. This policy is in addition to any other agreement between you and us; where a written agreement conflicts with this policy, that agreement governs.
1. Information We Collect
We collect only what we need to run the product:
- Account information. When you sign up, our authentication provider collects your email address, your name if you provide it, and your login credentials. We never see or store your password — our authentication provider handles that.
- Content you create. Watchlists, estimates, comp sets, custom metrics, saved views, and feedback you submit are stored so the product works and follows you across devices.
- Usage analytics. We use a privacy-friendly analytics provider, which collects aggregated page-view data without cookies and without building a profile of you.
- Diagnostics. If something errors, our error-monitoring provider records technical details (e.g. the error, browser, and page) so we can fix it.
- Essential cookies / local storage. A session cookie keeps you signed in. We use your browser’s local storage only for small UI state (e.g. remembering that you dismissed the welcome message). We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.
2. The Financial Data on TruSpread Is Public
The company financials, share counts, capital structure details, and valuations shown in TruSpread are derived from public SEC EDGAR filings and public market-price sources. This public company data is not your personal information.
3. How We Use Information
- To provide, secure, and operate your account and the Service.
- To save and sync the content you create.
- To monitor reliability, debug errors, and understand aggregate usage so we can improve the product.
- To contact you about your account, beta access, or material changes to the Service.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for third-party advertising.
4. Service Providers We Share With
We share information only with the service providers that run TruSpread, each acting on our behalf and under contracts requiring them to protect it and use it only for the services they provide to us:
- our authentication and account-management provider;
- our application hosting and analytics provider;
- our database hosting provider, which stores your account and the content you create;
- our error-monitoring and diagnostics provider; and
- our AI provider, whose model extracts figures from public filings. We do not send your personal information to it.
We may also disclose information if required by law, or to protect the rights, safety, and security of TruSpread and its users. If we are involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction.
5. International Data Transfers
TruSpread and the service providers above are based in the United States, and your information will be processed there. If you access the Service from outside the United States, you understand that your information will be transferred to and processed in the United States, where data-protection laws may differ from those in your country. We take reasonable steps to ensure your information is treated securely and in accordance with this policy.
6. Data Retention
We keep your account information and the content you create for as long as your account is active. If you ask us to delete your account, we will delete your personal information except where we are required to retain it by law. Aggregated, non-identifying analytics may be retained.
7. Security
Access is gated behind authenticated accounts, the site is served only over HTTPS, and we apply standard defensive response headers. You are responsible for keeping your login credentials confidential. No system is perfectly secure and no transmission over the internet can be guaranteed, but we take reasonable measures to protect your information. To report a security concern, email privacy@truspread.com.
8. Your Choices and Rights
You can update your account details through your profile, and you can request access to or deletion of your personal information by emailing us. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under laws such as the GDPR or CCPA, including the right to:
- access the personal information we hold about you and how we use it;
- correct inaccurate information or have it deleted;
- object to or restrict certain processing, or withdraw consent where processing is based on consent;
- receive your information in a portable, machine-readable format; and
- opt out of any “sale” of personal information (we do not sell your personal information).
We will not discriminate against you for exercising these rights. To exercise them, contact us at privacy@truspread.com. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request.
9. California Privacy Rights
If you are a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) gives you certain rights regarding your personal information. The personal information we collect is limited to your account information (such as your email and name) and the content you create in the product; we collect it for the purposes described in this policy. You have the right to know what personal information we hold about you, to request its deletion, to correct it, and to opt out of any “sale” of personal information.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights. To exercise any of these rights, email privacy@truspread.com; we may need to verify your identity before responding.
10. Children’s Privacy
TruSpread is a professional research tool intended for adults and is not directed to anyone under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children. If we learn that we have collected information from someone under 13, we will delete it.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy as the product evolves. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date above and, for material changes, take reasonable steps to notify you.
12. Contact
